Hi Becky,

Because it's a plugin you can do it through Windows. Control
Panel>Add/Remove Programs remove Tone Generator Plug-In. If you don't
see it, it probably was really installed (don't know why there would be
a "ghost" tone generator). Then from the Software disk (I think)
explore and find the plug-in folder, install Tone Generator Plug-In (if
not there it's on the Drivers disk - same procedure).

I can't remember if you need to restart the computer - but it wouldn't
hurt. Fire it up and you should be good to go. Good luck.

Thanks to all of your help and emails! Here's what I've done. (and
please
read to the bottom...I have another question.)

Murph -- Highlighted Track -- nothing happens (no red bar, nothin..all I
have done is successfully highlighted a section of the audio track.) =)
Audio is patched correctly to output.
Julie -- Expanded track -- still nothin'
John -- Set in and out points -- nothin'
Russ -- Looks like I'm going to have to go the reinstall route.

Now, here's my question. I tried John's other suggestion of having an
audio clip and added the tone generator as a clip effect. Here's what
happens:
Normally, I would go to Audio Effects>Tone Generator. By choosing to go
the clip effect route, it brings up a dialog box....however, Tone
Generator is NOT listed whatsoever. What does that mean? How can it
exist in one place, but not the other? Here's another dumb question
(since I've never had any hands-on experience with
installing/uninstalling anything on my system)........how do I uninstall
just the tone generator?

Thanks again for all of your help. It is very much appreciated!

Becky
