Hi Andi and Tim,

I have criticized Tim on the list before for being a little too enthusiastic about Vegas, but in his defense (and in light of what is going on with DS) I again appreciate his evangelistic furvor - in that regard he is like Tone.

As he has stated, he has never offered Vegas as a replacement for DS but a tool to enhance DS.  In this case, since there is no box (at least for a few more months) capable of getting HDV to SDI, I think the Vegas solution is both inexpensive and viable.

If he shutup about Vegas, he wouldn't be Timothy Duncan!

Andi -- you need to go back and check.  Many times someone else has mentioned Vegas as well as other 3rd party alternatives for things DS can't do.  I bought my first copy of Vegas on ebay for $200 4 yrs ago, and it's been the best swiss army knife of all things video and audio that I've ever found.   Were it not for Vegas, I couldn't get half the stuff in/out that I need with the DS.  (Am I the only one who have wacky clients that bring the strangest stuff in to edit?).
