Even better might be
"DS appears to have exited improperly. The last autosaved sequence will
now be restored and then DS will shut down. Enter a name for the
sequence, and then restart DS"
DS then sits there with a modal box, insisting you give the sequence a
name. Once you do, it closes down, clearing up all the "raggedy stuff" in
the sequence.
Co-incidentally I was only just discussing this workflow with the devs
earlier this week.
