To get "two streams real time with colour correction and dissolve in HD" you will need 12 drives striped together. Less drives striped is less perfomance, probably good enough for SD but I wouldn't recomend it for HD.

HI All,

Quick question regarding HD drives. Got an urgent need for extra HD drives this weekend.

I’ve got one array that is 12x73GB and another which is 8x73GB.

If I were to make two arrays that were 10x73GB and stripe them together would this give me enough speed to be able to edit in HD – and would I have to stripe them as one large stripe set.

Thanks,

Peter

Why not have a look at what West Digital Rushes Logger can do for you. Go to www.westdigital.co.uk/rl.htm <http://www.westdigital.co.uk/rl.htm> to have a look.
