Jim / Andy,

Thanks this is very helpful. Jim, I was not aware of the Ripple End Key thank you for pointing that out. Most of the projects I work on in the DS is straight finishing, and all the Mixing is done out of house. Looks like I need to do some reading on the editorial side of DS.

Thanks again,

Troy

    Hi Troy:
just checking that you are aware of the /Set Ripple End Key/ in
    the Edit window.
Not that that would help your initial question very much.. just
    another tool.

Re: Really Basic Sync Question Thanks,

The two times this issue had thrown me was when creating
composite containers, and not remembering to re-sync lock
them once I stepped out. And secondly, I often need to shift
audio slightly. So my process now is to unlock the master and
slave, slip or slide them, and then re-lock them together.
But this seems to create a new sync point based on the
shifted timecode, which makes sense. I was hoping there was a
way to shift these without having to ripple one track and not
the other (b/c of the shift it creates down the entire
        timeline).

Is there an easier way to offset the sync of the audio and
video? I’d like to be able to just grab and drag, or enter in
new start points. Sorry if this is really obvious.

        Troy

Adding to Johns answer. This only happens if the video and audio is sync locked as a master + slave. The shift will be obvious on the clip in the shape of a red notification. Andi
