Hi Nacho,

Thanks for the reply. Did you use Kona2 as the digitizer of fcp or did you capture natively over firewire? Our HDCAM-SR deck has no firewire and with that i'm obligated to capture the material using the Kona2's hd input and rs422 as machine control.

By the way, I'm also looking at the Avid Xpress HD workflow option since we have one. But I still find it "heavy" working with Avid's DNxHD option workflow since the files are larger compared to digitizing it at DV resolution of FCP (as offline resolution for offline edit). Is my observation correct?

regards,
Aleks

Hi Aleks,

We did a very simple feature film shot with a Sony 900/3 at 24 psf and we had no problems with the normal EDL files directly from FCP 4. BTW i can't remember but I think fades and dissolves worked ok.

Good luck,
Nacho

Anyone here have experienced working with FCP as offline workstation and the DS as the online workstation? We are currently starting to do post on a feature film shot using the CineAlta at 1080PsF 23.98. Any suggestions on the workflow? Thanks.
