Tom,

You can copy (or cut) and paste entire sequences with multiple tracks if you want. Just hold down shift, lasso the desired tracks right to left (very important -- left to right just selects multiple edit points on 7.6) on your timeline, and either control C for copy or control X for cut. Then select your inpoint by positioning the cutline and paste, you'll get a dialog box that asks you to patch source tracks to the correct tracks on your timeline. If you have ripple on, the process acts like extract and insert; if ripple is off, it's like lift and overwrite.

Ok…I new that, I’m trying to move a section of audio and video from one place to the other…either snipping or lifting. It seems to only work for 1 track at a time. I guess I’m just dreaming about how Media Composer used to work. I have survived up til now with the usual DS tools, but recently I had totally reorder a show and I remembered the little lift and scissor icons….

Hi Tom,

Highlight an area of your video track and press Ctrl+v (or use Edit-->Paste)

The Windows clipboard is invisible to the user.

Tone :)

I getting old, and can’t remember anyone answering this question….where is the clipboard on DS? When you lift or “scissor” a al media composer, the material is suppose to go to “The Clipboard” as per manual. Does it exist, or is it just an ancient myth.
