You hit "Ripple End". Click it a couple of times and it'll go away.

Editing along and I notice I now have a reasonably thick white line going
from the top of the number strip in the timeline to the bottom of the
timeline sitting right on an edit. I can not get rid of it. Restart of
app does nothing.
What button did I push to do this and can I unpush it?
