I had this before I think, Try the small ribbon cable connecting the button panel to the main deck body. (Underneath the panel) Also I had this problem when I added rack mount ears to my deck, after removing the ears I forgot to use the shorter screws and the deck locked out as a result. But if nobody touched your deck (had to watch the spelling there!) then ignore that one.

I go to eject the tape. The front panel buttons is frozen. I can't use any of the buttons.
I DOUBLE CHECK THE KEY INHIBIT BUTTON, to make sure I did not accidentally hit it. Nothing wrong, the KEY INHIBIT IS OFF.
Remote is disabled.
I check everything, I was the only person around, Nobody touched my machine 2 minutes earlier. The only way I can use the Dbeta machine is through a remote. from another machine or the DS.
Any clues? Has the microprocessor that controls the front panels bit the dust.
