Forgot to add:
DS|HD v6.02 QFE 3
SCSI card dual Adaptec Ultra 160
Current drives: Avid ST373405LC (8 (at) 72GB)
This info from Howard came in time for me as well. But I have another question.
Can I add on 4 stand alone SCSI 146GB drive to my Avid Media Dock LVD. If I can, do I have to restripe all 12 drives or can I just strip the new 4 drives without losing info on the original?
I need to add another set for a 60min HD doc & of course need to do it cheaply as possible. My current set up suited us fine for smaller HD projects.
Thanks for the help,

Please respond to RE: Drives for thte future Question

You can use a pair of 8 drive, rack mount frames from C.I. Designs [
CI-9000, around $850US ] with built in redundant power supplies. Hang 8
ea Seagate 146 GB Cheetah U320 drives in each frame terminating the last
drive and daisy chain them back to the two SCSI outputs on your host at
the HP. Stripe across all 16 drives.
This will give you maximum bandwidth and performance and is also
inexpensive considering the excellent MTBF of the ST3146807LC drives. In
the US the total cost would be around $8K for about 2.2 TB of very
reliable, U320, fast storage.
Of course you could just have 4 drives in each frame and expand later or
even one frame split into two chains and save another $4K. for most
work.

On this subject...
We may have to replace our drive set (rather than
fixing it). If we do this we want to future proof as
much as possible.
Will the Lamborgini (sp?) array be approved for v8?
TIA
