Does the Nitris hardware handle downconversions better?
Maybe better but certainly not well and not anywhere near as well as a sony deck which makes it useless for us.
How are you doing your downconversion on the equinox system?

Hi folks;
Concerning a NON-NITRIS (Equinox-based) DS-HD System:
I have noticed how poor my downconversions are (1080i to SD at 29.9
frames) when done within DS, compared to the same video downconverted by
the F500 VTR. I have noticed lots of artifacts around fine/sharp
horizontal details. I guess you'd call them interlace artifacts, but
there is no interlacing conversion happening here.
The converter in the F500 seems to handle this better, with MUCH less
artifacts noticed. Is there some setting within DS that can be changed
to minimize this? Does the Nitris hardware handle downconversions
better?
Thanks,
