I assumed (oops) that it would be the big NBC Screen but as you point out there are a myriad of other possibilities.  Going back today to do some more homework - thanks.

If you are talking about the screen at the foot of Times Square with the NBC peacock on it, it's standard NTSC. There are a whole passle of other screens with varying formats though.

Hi All,
 
A week or so ago the question of the Times Square screen came up and I'm still wondering if anyone knows if it uses a special setup or standard SD video.  Again, it looks like a 3x4 screen.  Gotta spot that will be running there later this year (I think) but I'm just the editor - I'm so far down the totem pole that my spine has been crushed to a few inches in length. Nonetheless, I am hoping someone might know or know someone who knows what the requirements for the Times Square screen are.
