Ooooh boy, I've done it again and started the cursed thread....
Before this goes elsewhere, let me thank all who commented on DF. It
certainly echoes what we have heard from our Montreal-based production
colleagues.
While it is true that Shake still runs on Linux, its unavailability on
Windozes seems to have kinda slowed down its market expansion in our
portion of the great white north (This is as far as we can tell, no
Apple bashing on our part), and we have to look a bit long term as far
as our students being able to make the most out of what we teach them.
There is already a few Montreal-based companies using DF, and more are
expected to join with v5.
For my part, I'm kind of sorry to see Shake leave the building. My
colleague who's been teaching it for the last few years is not at all
happy about it (I guess this is why he got to go to LA this week :-) ).
Thanks again to all who chipped in.
