Don’t get me wrong.. I “was” very happy, and I am happy, because DS, I was able to move from Argentina to Chile, 5 years ago, and now to move to the US and get e great job, so I’m happy, but for that same reason I’m not happy about the future of the DS, the lack of tools and the enormous time behind that the DS is now, make it almost impossible to catch the other boxes features, may be they do not want to go with those new tools because the DS core may be it is so old that can not handle it. But I remember.. when SI|3D was old enough… they started with XSI .. may be is time to do the same with the DS??

I have different names for resellers etc., but am very happy with the machine I have and the work I can deliver.

This line gets very depressing to think we may not be able to grow DS and with DS as we would like to, and lets hope and pray thast this baby will continue to get up and walk, she's just out of high school, now:

and Softimage... I bought this box V3.0_Beta because of you, and not avid, so, montreal, keep the faith and push on.

I hope your sales people did not dupe you.   I do not feel duped but rather saddened and disappointed by the perceived attitudes from Avid.

Once you see what Symphony Nitris will do to DS in the marketplace, you will realize why Avid refuses to go down this road.  Though we love DS, it is of little concern to Avid what we think and what we want for DS's future.  They are playing a waiting game and watching DS work itself out of the market rather than flat out killing it off right away so they don't take the lion share of the blame and the backlash won't be as brutal.  But trust me, they'll feel it soon enough.  And companies like AutoDesk are laughing all the way to the bank.  We were just offered by a reseller new Adrenaline systems with "free" DNxHD boards.  It's pretty freakin' sad when you have to start giving sh*t away.
