Phil, just a question: Have you tried rotating the images in Photoshop
before bringing them in? I've found that any rotation adds artifacts.
Also, I'm going to ask a dumb question: are your DVE's in "Output Frame
Size"? That is something that I sometimes forget.

Subject: Ugly Ken Burns
I am experiencing difficulty using DVE's to do "Ken Burns" moves on some
linked still images. When I do horizontal moves, I get a some really
ugly rasterization artifacts as the picture moves across the screen.
I am using the DVE to rotate all of the images 90 degrees... The video
will be displayed on a sideways monitor.
Most of the images are in the 1200 x 1000 size range.
I have experimented with various DVE filters and modes... I've tried
frame and field processing. I've rendered with motion blur and without.
Sometimes switching from bi-linear to bicubic will visibly improve the
image while it is parked, but as soon as I render and play it in real
time, the artifacting returns.
I also notice that if I start with larger images, and use the DVE to
scale them down more (say 20%) there is a digital graininess to the
picture that is quite unpleasant. To avoid this, I am pre-scaling the
images in Photoshop.
Any advice?
