Of course it is, I think Matthew was trying to
emphasize the similarities between interlaced and
progressive segmented frame(psF)in HDCAM.
And he is right to a certain point, that point being
how signals/fields/segments/frames are handled inside
a HDCAM recorder in either mode.
However, if the words camera, camcorder or shoot come
into the picture, then the theory no longer works, and
the fundamental difference between progressive(even
psF)and interlaced, as temporal sampling methods,
becomes obvious. It is the camera head where this
process takes place, and is has nothing or very little
to do with the further processing/recording steps.
