Hi Gary,

Here's my process but probably too much for what you need.  Edit DS>Create Ref AVI.  Open Cinemacraft Encoder SP>Encode Ref AVI>Creates MPEG2 and WAV files.  GigE to Scenarist Authoring Station>Author DVD>Burn DVD on Pioneer A08.

You might consider Vegas+DVD to do this work for you.  $600US for the software.  Encoding and burning and probably able to use your Ref AVI or QT from DS to do the work.

And no, Timothy Duncan did not pay me to say Vegas.

Subject: Best Format for DVD

Hello DSers …

My first question is probably a simple one.

So far I’ve yet to come up with the right mix of codec’s and file types.

To send a DVD copy of several spots to a client I’m exporting the spots as an AVI. I’m using the Nero Program to burn the DVD. Nero prefers AVI but does not specify which codec will work … and all of the choices I’ve made thus far don’t work with Nero.

Does anyone out there have the perfect match of DVD burn program, codec and file type?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Regards,

Gary S. DeMoss
