Subject : linking to media as a reference
I need advice on how to utilize the clients media which is on firewire drive.  The client has brought over his Avid Project and the Consolidated media on a firewire and wants to access the material as a reference for conforming an HD Finish.  The original project is a 23.98 sequence cut on Xpress Pro and the Ds Project is a 1080 23.98 conform usign D5 tapes.
This is for the purpose of having the reference for the sequence as Picture and Sound in place of laying it off to tape and upcconverting it to HD tape and capturing it as a reference for the project.      No QT movies were made however the project will play and link on the local editing system here running Xpress Pro.  The OMFI is visible on the Fire Wire Drive.     Do I need to copy this media into a video storage folder on the DS? Can I link to the OMFI media?  Do I need to mount the drive in the Indexing system?

Your advice will be very much appreciated.
