It is time consuming, interactivity killer and very limited work around...
but I guess, we are wrong again and AVID know what is better for us.

Hi Bob,

Isn't that what I suggested??? I was told that it is too time consuming
when you have a client behind you (which fortunately I don't - but then
again, I don't make what Todd makes or have to work his type of hours.
I'd be jealous except for the fact that my wife and children know who I
am and are happy to see me - most of the time).

Oh please.

But hey Victor, I'll actually help you:

The workaround is to create a new sequence of the resolution of your
clip, do the timewarp there, and then drag that into your SD sequence as
a reference sequence (if you like - you could also export the clip as an
AVI or a reference movie, and import it back into your project as SD).
For odd-sized material (in your case it's a 'standard' res) you can
create custom sequences at whatever size and do the same thing.
