Agreed. The unpublished purpose of the DS Editor was to get people onto the DS platform at a low price, let them realize what they’re missing, and upgrade to the full version. The unintended effect of that was to sour people on the product and – if they aren’t already – on Avid in general.

I am working on and editor, version 7.1 and have a question about composite containers.   Why would Avid take the very basic feature of being able to step in and out of containers away from users who are not using the full blown version?  I often have to create an ungodly amount of layers to create simple things and have yet to find a solution, background containers are not the same as composite containers.  I have an easier time at home working on Avid DV.
