Hi Troy,

Yes, that workaround will work, but a simpler one is to stick it in a Background Container as I suggested earlier.

As regards MC, to ensure an accurate conform of an MC speed effect it's essential that the anchor is set to the first frame of the effect.  It can be wherever you want when making the speed effect, but must be moved back to the first frame prior to exporting an AFE.

Hey Tone / John,

I couldn?t get the Input Speed option to work either, but I?ll give it another go. But, with the help of support, I found another workaround: edit the clip to timeline, add one frame to the head. Add timewarp, select speed and keep the first frame at 100% and make the second frame 800%. For some reason this works. What really is weird though is that the clip that was conformed from the MC shows the Timewarp with Speed and the first frame set to 800, but it?s impossible to recreate.

I spoke to support this morning and he said he escalate it to development. Thanks for the suggestions.

Troy

Hi Troy,

It seems to me, playing with what you're trying to do, that SPEED is broken.  The "Fix At" button isn't working correctly.

Here's a 'Jover'.... stick the clip into a background container before you do your Timewarp.

Tone :)

Hello all,

Having problems understanding how to effect the speed of a clip over time. I?ve read the manual and the online help and I?m at a loss.

I?m trying to slow the speed of a clip over time, from 800% and to 100%. It?s a timewarp I created in MC and conformed in the DS that I?m trying to recreate. I edit the source material into the timeline and apply a time warp. Select ?Speed?. Keyframe the first frame as 800 and leave the last frame as 100. When I change the first keyframe to 800, the source frame changes to a point in the clip that?s offline. I want the first framed to be anchored, but setting the base frame to ?First? or changing it to the timewarp source point doesn?t lock the effect to the first frame I edited in the timeline to begin with. I step into the timewarp and the base frame is on the original first frame that was edited in the timeline.

Conversely, I?m able to do a speed up no problem. What am I not understanding?

Thanks all,

Troy
