Hi Rick,
Yeah, umm... 'probably' ;-)
Archive/Restore works absolutely flawlessly within the same version,
but is only guaranteed to work back one version. I guess the theory
is that if you're diligently upgrading every new release, then you
only ever need to go back one version. Of course, that doesn't take
into account the project you forgot that's now come back to bite you
three DS versions later. (Nor does it take into account Ol' Betsy
users who might finally bite the bullet and upgrade ;-))
I've done restores across three versions before now and they worked
of a fashion. All the edits come across, but graphics need tweaking
(or rebuilding) and there might be all sorts of other strange
niggles. The problem is that the deep down DS base architecture can
change quite drastically between versions. Modules get completely
rewritten from the ground up, new workflows make old ones redundant,
etc. That's why it's so hard for the Devs to achieve backwards
compatibility between archives.
Seeya,
Tone :)

Also, if in fact I have diligently archived ALL of my old projects
at ver 3.01, will a Ver 6. on up
open the old projects?
