Howard,

I went down to JVC's headquarters in Cypress a couple weeks ago to check out the new GY-HD100U and saw the companion deck (BR-HD50U) and it doesn't have any SDI outs, but does have a HDMI out and RS422A. Theoretically you could take the HDMI, convert to DVI and take DVI to HDSDI, but I'm not sure there's a box out there that can do it yet... Gefen's is pre-order for $2499. I'm not sure how the workflow would go on an Adrenaline, but I'm guessing it would be somewhat similar to the ingest and output to "real" tape unless you were on a Unity. But that's just a guess...

Until next time...

Hello Matt,

We evaluated one of the JVC GR-HD1 units but did NOT try to edit or work with its output. I wonder if you would have the same problems if you digitized with an Adrenaline and then proceeded? could it be something specific to the frame settings since you shot in 30fps?

I also noted that the only output directly from the camcorder other than firewire was component.
