Chipping in late here but I don't think the 1200 alows editing back to tape. To the best of my knowledge it is a player recorder no a full blown edit machine.
Is there a new version of this deck that I don't know about?

Gotta chirp in to from a recent learning experience shared by a friend.  It was his first
Hi Def job and his first using this deck.  He was under the gun to deliver a contracted show
on a deadline.  Spent HOURS trying to ouptu to the 1200 and have show start DF at 1:00:00:00.  Bottom line, no can do.

So he came up with what I consider a pretty nifty work around.  He patched the RS 422 to output to Digi Beta to a black and coded tape.  Patched the output of Timecode from the Digi to the the 1200, Patched video and audio from the Edit system ( Not a DS! ) and threw the 1200 into crash record.  Presto

This obviously wouldn't solve any "Archive To Tape" issues but could help some else in a pinch.  Hey, wouldn't it be cool if the DS had a Timecode spigot out ???????

Hope this helps as I haven't made technical contribution to this list in...............ever.
