Thanks Tony,
All your suggestions sound great, but not working on my end. Even after
"Saving As" when I drop the 4x3 seq on my 16x9 seq I cannot pan and
scan. But I can if I do a timeline to clip. Also after all of my
settings match your capture settings, I still get a larger image that I
have to DVE. I was wondering if there is a setting that imports the
graphic native full 16x9 so I don't have to DVE it. Not a big problem,
but just wondering.
Any more sugestions?
Thanks for the pretty Purple,
Pete

Hi all,
My questions are kinda making my head spin, so hopefully I can ask
them in a form that you can understand.
I am doing a SD project w/ SD video sources, and importing graphics
that are 1024x576 from an outside company. Now, my first question
is: When I try to link the graphics into my 16x9 NTSC sequence I
cannot get the right combination of capture settings (center, keep
original size;
pixel ratio) etc... I've tried I think every combination and the
graphic, which is true 16x9 by calculations, is importing alot
larger. I then have to DVE the linked file to 71% size to make it fit
my 16x9 frame. What am I missing to link the clip directly as a true
16x9 clip so I don't have to DVE it.
TJ>> Set the Capture settings to:
Scale to fit
Alpha as required
Premultiplied as required
Input Levels - Graphics
Pixel Ratio - Auto *deselected, *Standard, Square Pixels
My other question is that I want to cut my piece on a 4x3 timeline
for ease of not haveing to render every other minute. My test so far
is throwing me off. I cut a 5sec. test clip on a 4x3 seq. and
generated a timeline to clip. Then dragged that linked clip onto a
16x9 seq. Everything is fine, threw a DVE on that clip and could
slide on Y axis with lots of head and foot room. Kinda like an HD
clip on a SD seq. Now what was weird is just for shits and giggles, I
dragged a clip that was not linked to my 4x3 seq. (but still in my
root project) on to the 16x9 seq. and the top and bottom get cropped
with black outside the viewer.. I put a DVE on it and unchecked the
output to size option and cranked the Y axis and it looked like it
wanted to show me all the frame but it didn't. Just black. I've even
rebooted. No change.
TJ>> A few things here.
1. Before dragging a 4:3 sequence to a 16:9 timeline do a
"Save As" of the 4:3 sequence. If you do not then DS WILL get
confused when you switch back to the 4:3 sequence.
2. A 4:3 clip on a 16:9 timeline will have all the image
available, but obviously off screen until it is manipulated by a DVE
3. To manipulate a larger than screen size image with a DVE
you should NOT uncheck "Output Screen Size". DS can only display the
screen size, so you are simply wasting memory resources by forcing it
to compute parts of the image which it cannot display
4. You can pan and scan a clip in exactly the same way with a
DVE regardless of whether it's linked or captured.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Tone :)
Any suggestions will help. 7.6 qfe2 nitris

Pete
