I hadn’t talked to him. Which I just did. He is going to call me back about still getting here for Monday.

‘Cause I can’t help myself, he did say that he hadn’t called me back due to the fact that he had the wrong phone with him. (Considering I’ve done that very thing) Also posting to the list got his attention. (meaning got his attention to the fact that I was looking to talk to him)

Has the freelancer in question indicated to you that they are not going to pay for the flight, room, etc.?   I’m just curious as to whether you’ve asked for compensation and been refused; or if you’re waiting to see if the freelancer offers first.

 

Canceling like that is exceedingly unprofessional unless it was a family emergency type of thing.

Hey all,

 

If you hire a freelancer, they agree to do THREE WEEKS of work, you book and pay for the flight and hotel, then the day said Freelancer is to fly in, they call and cancel, how does everyone feel about if the freelancer owes me for the flight and hotel?

 

Let alone the fact that now I’m down an editor for the next few weeks. Which brings me to my next question, I need a freelancer. In Farmington Hills, MI (Northwest of Detroit) Starting Monday Sept. 12^th thru Friday Sept. 23^rd.  You MUST be able to heavily composite and edit. DS v5 and v7.5.  As a bonus note, we are looking to hire, so if things work out and you feel like trying out the life of a staffer, this could work out nicely for you.
