I had just posted and didn't see this thread (too busy working to read through the whole list) Here is what I have found while trying to use Stage tools in DS:

"... Stage tools' " Moving Pictures" Although it conforms into DS It is real buggy (example: random flashing color lines on the outer edges of the moving image.) and requires addition tweaking in it's custom interface which has very very limited controls and seems to love crashing the system as often as it can."

You might try getting the offline editor to use StageTools Moving Picture www.stagetools.com and install it yourself.

When the AFE comes over you should get the keyframes.

You can use a demo to prove the concept before you spend any license fee payers' money on it ;-)

Subject: Avid Pan and Zoom

Hi List-
I'm finishing a 60 min SD doc next week on Nitris (7.6 QFE 2a) that has been cut on an Avid Adrenalin. As the doc is about a photographer and his pictures. The offliner has used Avid Pan and Zoom to linked files imported from DVD. These are all large Tiff files.

I understand from support that the AVX that is Avid Pan and Zoom is not supported by DS. A conform of such an effect just gives you a blank AVX clip effect on top of filler. What I am looking for is a workaround or something that I can get the offliner to do prior to my online day to help out the conform process. (There are hundreds of these Tiff files in the programme)

I was considering asking the offliner to put on another track the linked photo stills in position with just a guide DVE move on them. E.g. right to left / top to bottom etc. I could then load in a guide playout or ref. movie to match the exact moves.

Anybody done this before? What's the best workflow offline - Nitris? (I plan on using AAF / AFE)
