The SCSI Configuration utility is indeed for SCSI type storages.

ASM should work but what Bob suggest may also work, although I never tried it.  But if you avoid the write test, I don't think it will harm your drive's content.

Thanks. That string concerns a SCSI drive setup and we have fiber.  Is the test the same? I should use ASM from AVID or the thing Bob mentioned http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=20

Bob Maple mentioned a test utility to download and check drives in the storage for a very similar issue posted by Rich Tencza.  Avid also use a tool to monitor and tests drive:  ASM.  You have a copy on the Drivers CD, DVD or download package, or simply from the Avid DS Support Center.

Did you install ASM and test your storage with it?  As Bob mentions, don't use destructive testing (write mode) with important material on the stripe volume.

I am aware of the issue opened with support and I will let them continue their work.

Subject: fileXfer rates

I’ve been having lots of trouble getting long format (60-90 min) HD programs to output without interruption.  I have an open case with tech support and have discovered (via the nifty FileXfer Utility) that our file transfer rate from DS to media drives is in the 140 range rather than the suggested 150-175 MB/second recommended range for HD.   Does anyone else experience this?  Is there any way to improve the rate?   Might the error be something else?   Deck settings?   I also tried the suggested turn off monitor & break sequence into segments, and defrag files, and leave room on drives, etc

We use 7.6 on Equinox and have HDW-500 HD CAM deck.

Thanks.
