Title: Quicktime versus Quicktime reference

One of the things we're doing a lot these days is kicking out Quicktime files for later DS usage (like when we create a background treatment we like for later animations or when we create lower thirds so that Avid Newscutters can import them and use them in their news packages) we export the files as Quicktime, No Compression, with Alpha as needed and Millions of colors + (for Alpha). We also tend to not have audio with these files.

We don't do Quicktime Reference Files. Never have.

Is there something special about the reference files? Obviously the files we export work for our purposes...
