That is real horsepower!

I am not against it just trying to give prudent advice. Anyone can and perhaps should investigate alternatives to Avid storage since it is primarily repackaged product. [I know I will hear from Avid on that one]. But you must do your homework carefully and be certain that the support is there when you need it. I am certain it is with Terrablock.

Having a Quarter million dollar suite and gear idle while you troubleshoot storage issues could quickly lose you the same amount of dollars as you saved by using the third party storage.

Food for thought.

We have several facilities up on
TERRABLOCK storage for dual stream Nitris 10bit HD, in fact it's been one of
the fastest growing segments for us along with 2K and 4:4:4. We can support
two Nitris 10bit clients on a single 24 drive server, more with DNX 220.  We
use 4Gbit fibre and achieve over 350mb/sec per client, and scale to 100TB.
RAID 0 should never be your only option.

Plus we've done it before, and can support the environment.

While fully realizing the Avid preference for speed and reliability inherent
in SCSI, there are other options. We have several facilities up on

DS wants to see RAID 0 and the correct number of drives for your setup.
You could use some none RAID 0 storage as backup to move projects off
to. Stick with Approved SCSI configurations. Huge is one option. Your
own set of U320 Seagate Cheetah 146 GB drives with power supply and host
card is another possibility.

You can always direct DS to the correct drives if you use compatible
RAID 0 but that sort of thing is not self-apparent. If you have any
doubt at all about the storage then stick with Avid approved stuff and
fork over the dollars. The support is
good........................................OK, OK. You may have to be a
bit insistent to get support:-))
