Hi Matthew.

As always your posts are very helpful.

I spoke to the fine folks at Abel Cinetech, the Panasonic reseller here in New York. They agreed that the upconvert from 24pA to 1080psf should be accurate. We are going to do a short test next week to be sure.

Cheers,

I called Panasonic directly a few months ago and the guy told me that the 1700 would read the 24PA and perform a correct 1080 (at) 24Psf upconvert. He also said that it would cross-convert between NTSC DV (at) 24PA to NTSC DV (at) 24P. We never did try it, but in theory it would work.

Until next time...

Hi y'all,

Client has shot NTSC DV at 24p Advanced (Argh). Final delivery is film-out. Will the AJ-HD1700 upconvert to 1080? If so, interlaced or 24P? If not, will Teranex understand the 2:3:3:2 cadence?

Thanks in advance,
