Especially after I just paid tens of thousands of dollars for it, I
hope everyone is just being dramatic or bitter about Avid support
and not truly implying that my investment was for naught.

Thats the problem. AVID won't/hasn't been saying jack, so we all really don't know if DS will merely be maintained, or if they will give it the attention it deserves. Most have read the writing on the wall for themselves, when at NAB the DS was shoved in a little corner and not featured in any prominent way.

We're all just kind of hanging, and being confused at how AVID has been conducting it's self and promoting things like the Symphony Nitris or whatever the hell it's called. They really seem to have no clue on how these two products relate to each other or fit into the grand scheme of things. But in general, the stepchild is always the one who is mistreated :/
