Well I had to take a list created on Final Cut at
30 and conform a 23.976 job.
Thought I'd share some info.
FCP to edl, What a piece of crap for edl
generation... seriously. After version 5, you figured.... Oh wait, I
forgot, Apple makes computers.
So I Automatic ducked it and brought it into a my
Xpress. Wes's software is way better for accurate list creation on an Avid
platform.
Then created 30 frame edls. By the way, the
client cut the sequence in dropframe. Big pain when the conform is
23.976
Anyone, I can overcome that.
The I used EDL: processor for the EDL conversion
from 29.97 to 23.976. Bad, bad bug with a drop frame
sequence.
The record times are completely wrong. Audio
was the dead giveaway for that.
Anyway, I thought perhaps I'll create a NDF list,
save it, and then convert it to 24. Maybe that will fix the bug... yes
it's a bug.
No go,
BAD BAD EDL processor. You're not
converting the records times correctly
And it's the latest version on the softimage
site.
So I try EDLmax 24...
1 word.
Perfect...
Avid./Soft, Just get Brook's software and
bundle it.
Save many people headaches.
