Title: RE: easy friday question
I'm on a DS version 7.5 (QFE 3) Build 7.5.2004.0825.

I called our Maintenance people some time ago about this. They know about the problem and say "they're talking to Avid about this." I have to assume it's a "low priority fix," because the problem is over a month old.

Whenever the machine is recycled (Reboot Windows), the DS cannot find its Project Root. It seems to default to the last known folder (even on a network) you had open or the root directory in C:\

The "Jover" is to Add a project root and then go find where the projects are supposed to be (on the F:\ Drive under \DS Projects\DS533_v7.5\ as the system is configured). This must be done every day on bootup.

I have given the machine plenty of time to get the Media Indexer running on it. I have given Windows plenty of time to fully and completely start up before starting the DS application.

This inquiry has been sent to Escalation, according to our Maintenence department -- I just want to know if there is a config file I could edit so that this machine could be reset to the way it is supposed to be.

I have to assume that Paul Murphy, at one time, got to this machine and deleted something... (not seriously).

There is one person who operates this machine weekends who seems to not know what he is doing. He is probably the culprit here but one can never know for sure.

Anyone know what's amiss here?
