Thanks for the news. I did see Penguins with my little girl, I loved it.
It
was a nice break from the usual pace of shoot-em ups and mob violence,
etc.
my little one sat thru most of it.

As for Grizzly, if you notice on the list from earlier conversations,
Spencer H. did the online for the theatrical (on the DS) and then I was
called in, when he wasn't available, to work on the DVD
modification/release. So yeah, I saw it. I think a lot more people
should
have aspirations like timothy (the grizzly man) to do better, and be a
better person.

Werner is involved in a lot more than discovery docs, but that's another
discussion to be held at a different time, say May 2006.

There were many notable films this year.

"March of the Penguins". You may have seen already it as it is on

lots of people are convinced that making theatrical release wildlife
films are the future. Not convinced myself.

The film everyone was talking about was "Grizzly Man". You might not
like it but you've got to see it.
It tells the story of a guy who spent time with bears convinced that

could live amongst them safely. He couldn't.
Discovery Docs made by Werner Herzog again for theatrical release.

I've just got back from a very enjoyable Jackson Hole Wildlife Film
Festival. This is the biggest Wildlife Film Festival in North America
and alternates bi annually with the Wildvision Festival in Bristol
      

UK.
  

 

All the main manufactures and some smaller ones were present in one
      

form
    

or another, as sponsors or by demonstrating their wares at a small
technology fair.

 

Apple ran taster courses on FCP, Advanced FCP, DVD Studio, Motion and
Soundtrack Pro and then some in depth courses for those that were
      

more
  

interested. These were well attended and well received judging by the
number of unsolicited positive comments I heard.

 

Avid were not present in any shape or form, neither as a sponsor nor
      

as
    

an exhibitor.
