I think to throw out any number would give you the wrong idea.  I'm in agreement with Sean that rates vary in markets, and different artists definitely vary as well.  I once finished a job in two days, but was booked for three.  Does that mean I should charge more than a freelancer that might have taken three?  I'd have to answer that in a negotiation.

I think the only way is to talk to the possible freelancers and make a decision from there.
