Ken,
there are others who know storage things better than me but simply
stated, the drives all work together as one - hence the speed. To get
full speed from your Nitris it is important that you have at least 12
drives made into a stripe set. Adding drives, you could opt for another
stripe set of 12 new drives - less drives will not give you the speed
needed for the real time effects, or you could I suppose add more drives
to the original 12 - but then you would have to get exactly the same
brand and type of drives and restripe them all together (meaning
deleting everything on them). I'm sure others can fill in with more
detailed information.
