Hi Ken,

I hate giving advice on something like this just because one small communication mishap and you're the one who pays the price.  So here is my OPINION.

Use EXCEPT FOR
Select all the final sequences - don't use Current Sequence - use Selected Items (since you say there are six reels - I don't know if that means six sequences or actual reels).  By purging except for selected items and selecting sequences, you should only eliminate footage outside of the selected sequences.

Since I am the king of deletion, I would definitely suggest some backup of needed project files (archive at least the project and audio).  Also I'd wait to see if anyone else has additional suggestions.  I'd hate to be wrong and have you redo hours of work.

Subject: Media Purge question

Nitris V7.5 QFE4
Project:  1080psf 23.98  10bit Uncompressed

OK, so until I figure out my new drive array needs, I need to purge some unused media (I have 23 seconds left on my video storage OUCH!)  This current film is broken up into 6 reels just under 20 minutes each.  I've made one long sequence with all 6 reels.  In the purge tool, I've selected:

Display Media EXCEPT FOR Current Sequence.
Consider Following Media Types:  Uncompressed Video, Video Caches

About 500 Gigs of media loaded into the purge list.  Am I safe to assume that with these options selected, only media that is NOT  in my sequence will be purged?  I should be safe right?

Waiting on an answer before I hit the purge button.

TIA

KEN
