from my memory, QT ref files have allways been a lot smaller than Avi
ref. I don't think the size is cause to anything wrong here, after all
it is just pointing in a certain direction. That the sound is missing is
naturally not good but couldn't that be due to something else like a
limitation to 16 bits or else?

I tried to export a QT reference file and the video came across but no
audio. The ref AVI was 839MB while the QT ref file as only 20MB (this
for a program that was 85min in length). The video was working but
the audio wasn't. Not casting blame or picking a fight. Just info
that everyone might find useful.
Maybe waiting on QT7 and sticking with QT6.5.3 isn't such a bad idea.
