A long shot. If any indexation is going on at the same time then your system can become very sluggish. Indexation is for example done after you power up your system maybe after a crash. If you have many projects then this can take maybe 20 minutes or so. Just a thought.

Hi Tone,

It's a pretty basic sequence, a 30'', 20'' and 10'' ad. However. The project was originally 16x9 but the sequence I'm working on is 4x3. Hence the clips are a mixture of 16x9 and 4x3. Perhaps this is the issue, maybe DS is working out the aspect ratio of each clip during the loading period in the source monitor?

Thanks,

Dom

Heavy sequence?

Have you tried splitting it up?

I'm running V 7.6 QFE 2a. Could it be anything else?

Thanks,

Dom

Subject: video freeze in the source monitor

Hi all,

Occasionally I come across this problem: Loading clips into the source
monitor causes things to freeze for around five seconds, I can't move
the time indicator through the clip and often the source monitor
screen doesn't update to the newly selected clip. After five seconds
or so everything is back to normal, I can scrub thought the source
clip and everything updates as normal. Not a major problem but one
that makes editing kind of tedious.
Anyone have any idea what the culprit might be? My drives are around
25% full although I do have around 10 - 12 active projects.

Thanks in advance,

Dom.
