If you have linked to the DPX files, they will be real-time for all HD =
and film

formats if:

* The DPX files are on your local videostorage.

* The format of the DPX files exactly match the format of the current

sequence.

* The current sequence storage bit-depth is set to 8 or 10.

* The data in the DPX files are correctly aligned. This should almost =
always

be the case. If not, the FixDPX utility can fix any misaligned data DPX

files-see "Aligning your DPX Files" in the Help.

and from new features:

Real-Time Performance

Avid DS Nitris now fully supports real-time playback of all 10-bit RGB =
2K or

HD media (DPX, MXF and GEN files). For a list of the criteria required =
for

real-time playback, see Real-time Playback of HD and Film Formats.

Seems to me that you only can play 2k in real-time if the media is in =
DPX, MXF or GEN files.

Hi list-=20
I have an animation job brought in as sequential PNG files. They are =
2048 x 1152 and the final product will be film It has been Avid offlined =
and requested to be onlined at 25p for UK down converted broadcast. The =
end product from me will be a sequential Tiff sequence output to =
external drive.

I'm on Nitris 7.6qfe2a with local drive array storage=20
I have created a Custom 2048 x 1152 Progressive 25.00 frames 16/9 full =
resolution RGB 4:4:4 10 bit uncompressed project.

Everything is great - but here comes the question...........=20

My sequence will not play back without dropping frames - is this a =
problem or a feature of this resolution size?=20

Thanks in advance,=20
Rich Moss=20

P.S. in case anyone's interested in HDV workflow - I just offlined a =
prog using the down converted DV Native option from a HDV deck on =
express pro. Conformed it at HDV native then transcoded the final cut to =
DNXHD 120 and with an AAF picked up the media in the Nitris via Unity =
and finished and output to HDCam. It worked pretty well and the end =
product does look good.- This will obviously be a lot easier with =
Adrenaline 2.2!
