Threoretically, any compressed format should take longer than uncompressed. I did a test at one point but I forogt the results. If you are exporting to an external drive the drive speed is a huge factor. OSX formatted NTFS drive will underperform. Use windows formatted drives whenever possible.

Ok, so I'm exporting 40 seconds of video to Quicktime (Animation codec) full
resolution and it takes over 5 minutes. WHY?

What is the fastest way to export full-res video with audio from a sequence?

You can't say reference movie either, because I have to say, in anything
other than a basic sequence it simply doesn't work. Let's assume for the
sake of this discussion that it doesn't work though rather than try to
figure this out...

Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks!
