Thanks Steven,

But there are SO many people here that get involved with the computers (IT, Engineers, random hobos from off the street, etc) that finding the manual is near impossible. That's why I went directly to the web site.

We know what it is now (motherboard...something cooked...FIRE!!) and HP is on their way.

Cheers!
Paul

Paul,

The error code messages are in the "HP Setup and Troubleshooting Guide" that comes with the computer.  There is a chart that shows the meaning of the beeps and flashing leds.

We have an occasional problem on boot with one our 8200s of the Memory needing to be physically reset in the slots every now and then.

Good luck with HP.

Steven

Thanks Rich,l Stewart & Rich...

We tried everything you all suggested, but nada. And Rich T, where did you find that info for the error code? I looked all over the HP site!

Anyway, it IS the motherboard and HP is coming out withing the next 24 hours to repair it (replace it more likely).  Now I have no RP...oh well. At least I can work!

Cheers!

Bad news - HP lists  that error code as system board or CPU. First thing
to try is full power down (physically unplugged) then power up (if your
Karma is in good shape :-)
Next thing to try is pulling the second CPU and see if it boots (if
you're brave) - it may have a bad VRM (onboard on that model) which will
limit it to one CPU.
Best course of action if power cycling doesn't work - Let HP deal with it.
