Menu Item Selection

Subject : Menu Item Selection

If there is a drop down menu for fonts, transfer modes or whatever, how can I scroll through the items using keystrokes instead of mouse clicking each one at a time?

I know it can be done because in the DS training movies they were doing it. Just need to know the trick.
