Hello Russ,

It is Windows who wish to come and help you install new detected hardware.  Except that the MediaDock doesn't need any driver to work.  Instead of canceling, proceed with an install and just deselect all floppy, CD or local path options.  Windows will next offer to disable the hardware and just approve this.  You'll have to repeat this step twice because there are two SCSI controllers.

Once done, the setup wizard will not come back haunt you after a system restart, unless you move the equipment again...  :-))

Subject: V6 storage question

Hi all -

I just moved my V6.02 DS to another room, hooked everything back up, and when I boot the computer I get the "Found new hardware - Avid MediaDock LVD SCSI Processor Device" message, and it tries to load a driver. If I cancel out of that, it gives me the same message again (for the other SCSI channel, I suppose), and if I cancel a second time, I can get DS to run and everything appears to be normal.

Before I moved it, everything was OK. What would have changed in just disconnnecting, moving and reconnecting everything? And what do I need to load to make it happy now?

It did also giving me the Found new hardware message for the Meridian hardware, so I reloaded that driver from the Soft website, and that's happy now.

Thanks for any help y'all will be able to offer!

Russ
