And it has a great tactile control surface (i.e. Balls!!!)  that allow an
operator to work much faster than if they can with a pen.

Also, a daVinci allows the operator to make multiple adjustments at the same
time.  This is where the Avid workflow breaks down, because often a result
is based on the relationship of several adjustments and this can best be
achieved by seeing the interaction of these adjustments as they happen
together in real time.

Another important note - prolonged color correction using a pen leads to
wrist and hand pain.

Some clarification here.  As my colorists tell me, there are 8 power
windows (wipes) and 15 secondaries on the stock DaVinci 2k.  And no renders.
