And while you were debating this on this forum, I was hard at work
figuring out what was bad in the project you uploaded on the Support &
Upload Tool. Guess what? I did found the problem and sent you back the
resolution.

I'll look at Frey questions and see if these are support or public
issues.

First of, I am NOT knocking the DS folk at all. What I am doing is
extolling them to even greater heights!!

That said ...

I come from a bunch of years as a smoke user. As I said in one of my
earliest post to this list, I believe the level of interaction between
user and developer is MUCH higher on smoke news than on this list. I
have noticed a slight increase in names from Montreal responding to
questions in the few months. But it seems that percentage of posts from
Softimage employees is much lower on this list than the percentage of
posts from Autodesk employees on smoke / flame news. I would imagine
that this is management dictated. Having one main voice to the users
is safer and more efficient. And yes, the phrase "open a call with
support" is used quite liberally on smoke news. But mostly in
situations where it seems that the individual system is having problems.
If it is a system usage problem, most likely the developer who wrote the
code will tell you how that module is designed and what you can do to
get the result you needed. Or that, in fact, it will not do what you
want and that request will go on the BIG LIST.

My earlier question about where the line was drawn between forum support
and "official" support was based on my belief that the line is in a very
different place in smoke land. Just tryin' to figure things out.

Jef
