Unity. Unity does not support Pro Tools on OSX, only OS9. Apparently Digi and Avid Unity folks have given up on trying.  So, in order for us to move to Pro Tools HD systems and software beyond 5.1.2, PC is the only option - if we want to continue with Unity - which is very much an integral part of our workflow. No other servers that we have found allow read/write access at the file level for all simultaneous users. This allows us to open any project at any time by any room with full permissions.

Hi Tom, what's the reason for the switch to PCs? We are about to purchase a Pro Tools and different re-sellers are recommending different platforms.

Thanks

We are using Avid Meridian SDI I/O box - fully integrated with Pro Tools MIX3 TDM system - today. We are about to go from Mac based systems to PC based Pro Tools - HD, the plan there is to use a MOJO with a bi-directional SDI/DV box such as the Miranda DV Bridge + to get SD SDI in and out.
