I just got back from the American Film Market conference in Santa Monica.

There was a lot of buzz surrounding Panavision's new Genesis camera and a
lot of major producers are lining up to use it on their next show. The
camera records directly to HDCam SR tapes in HQ mode in RGB 4:4:4 with
almost no compression at all.

Also, some of the studios are looking to undertake a modified Digital
Intermediate process that involves scanning and posting using HDCam SR Dual
Link HDI-SDI RGB 4:4:4. When finished they are planning to scan out to film.

For any of us DSers wanting to take advantage of this lucrative new medium
there's a huge problem. Avid|DS Nitris cannot capture or output Dual link
HD-SDI RGB 4:4:4.

My big question is when will DS support Dual link HD-SDI RGB 4:4:4 ????
Several major LA facilities that have DS have already bought competitor's
products to do the work.
