When there is a system that allows me to do everything I can do in DS that is at least as fast, in whatever resolution I want, on shared storage that is stable enough for me to deliver fast turnaround programming under extreme pressure without having to use different products, that is at a price point that my employer can make money and still pay their employees well then we’ll talk about jumping ship.

Personally I don’t give a frog’s fat a$$ whether that app runs on Mac or Windows or Linux or Unix or Amiga, and I don’t care what the interface looks like.  At some point we all had to learn the systems we now work on…

The clients pay to get their projects done.  Most don’t care what system it’s finished on, just that it’s finished and on time.

Will I try to sit down at a Chrome HD and give it a go?  You bet I will.

Will I report my impressions here for better or worse?  Absolutely.

OK, so who's going to jump with us? ship that is. paul and i have had this discussion, as i'm sure several of you have, about the real reason why FCP isn't the mainstay in most places.. if you don't already know, then do some research. i would love to see that fact change, cause frankly, i am getting tired of making excuses, esp whenit's always being compared to FCP or , like the previous email from scott, just about everything else does everything else.

Argh!!!! (in the flavor of charlie brown missing the football, again!)

Ya know...the description below is the biggest seller (to ME) for learning/purchasing FCP.  I have been avoiding RE-learning FCP (used it back in the day...v1.2) for many reasons, but after reading Scott's description of WHAT you can purchase to do whatever flavor of editing, it only makes sense to invest in FCP.

I want to say it's a shame...but I think it's because I feel (now) that Avid really is watering down their product instead of bringing them together.

wow. (shock AND awe...with disgust mixed in)
